Low Coolant buzzer

Maybe some of you remember my last post about this. I thought it was the redline buzzer.... at idle... but it turns out it was the low coolant buzzer. my coolant was low so I filled it back up and ran it for a while to check for leaks. none showed up so I have been driving it again. it went off again today. I checked the overflow tank and its full. I haven't checked at the cap yet because its still hot and I'd rather not burn myself. what I'm wondering is, could it be that the sensor is bad?

Hey, i just got my 7 on the road for a while of sitting. And they said that there was a problem with leaks...My expansion tank is full. But i am still hearing...sounds like a door buzzer. ding ding ding ding, could be a faulty sensor, i mean these cars aren't new. So have it checked. Could be overheating as well from a plugged rad. Hope that helps

well, the buzzer that's going off is the same as the redline buzzer. I have been told that the redline buzzer is also the low coolant buzzer.

Xentrix - did you see any leaking? I haven't seen any leaking from my car so I'm not sure if this is what it is.

It burst on my way home, I saw a leak when I got to the car so I drove really slow back but it still went.

Check the radiator again. Just filling the overflow won't make the buzzer go off. It can be hard to get all the air out of the system so It may take a couple times of filling to get it all out.

The 'low oil' buzzer is also the same as the low coolant and red line buzzer. I'm sure that you've checked your oil level lately, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

yeah lets ground the wire so if we really do have a problem at least we wont have to know about it or listen to that annoying buzzing.

Noone has answered my question. Is the Heater core hose a typical problem or what? What is a good replacment? Oh and how do you get all the air out of the coolent system?

thanks for the help. I'm still not sure what it is, I haven't seen ANY leaking. the temp gauge may have gone up a little, but that could be because I'm paranoid and thought I saw it going up. I turned the heater on and it 'went back down'. But I still didn't see any leaks. at least not when I stopped it. not a very smart idea to stop and check in the middle of a busy road...

Im telling you dont bullshit yourself, I didnt have any leaks either and came to find out that the seals in the engine were toast. If you dont have the capabilities to check it yourself, spend some dough take it to a garage and ask them to look at it for you. You will save alot of headache.

I used 5/8" flexible coolant line for mine! Works fine for a while I've heard that the factory replacement should work better but it is $30!!!!

As for getting all the air out! Well I get as much as I can when it's cold then fill the reserve tank as full as you can. Now go runthe car get it noce and warm/hot now go home and let it sit until it's cold again (good couple of hours) as it cools down and depressurizes it will suck some more coolant back into the system adn cures the air bubbles leak. (I haven't hear dth buzzer for a week or two now so it must work)

I was just looking at my car to see if I could see a leak/needed to add any coolant, and low and behold there's a very small puddle on the ground (few drips). looks like the middle/front of the radiator. I looked at the top of the radiator and there is antefreeze seeping out of where the sensor is... Where's the best place to order a new sensor?

I was having a similar problem, the overflow tank kept filling but it would not pull the fluid back out of the overflow. Kept getting low coolant warnings that would come & go. No fluid leakage. I had the cooling system flushed, replaced the radiator cap, the filler cap, checked all the hoses, everything I could think of, but I never got it fixed. Unfortunately my motor went (apparently unrelated) so I have not had a chance to track it down. Hopefully whatever was causing it will become apparent once the motor is dropped back in.

is the sensor on top of the engine supposed to screw in? or what? I tried seeing if it was just loose, but it would just kind of spin around not really seeming to get tighter.

Mazdatrix:

15-610B-8553.....WATER LEVEL SENSOR....ALL THROUGH 92.........$ 12.77

I've actually seen people that want to buy these things used, and it blows my damn mind.

Hey why spend the extra $12 now when you can wait & replace the $3k engine in a few weeks?

uuuuhhh, I'm not sure... I'll check tomorrow, but I think I might have oil in my coolant. I haven't noticed anything wrong with its running, it does get a little warmer than it used to, but its been going back to normal pretty quickly after that. The buzzer is still going off and on here and there.
