Lots of water runs thru window seal

How much water going thru the passenger and driver doors is ok? I seem to have quite a bit going thru when I spray the windows with a hose. I know they aren't made to be extremely well sealed but it just seems like quite a bit. I noticed this because I had some water running from the lower part of the door panel onto the carpet inside the car. Water was coming thru the speaker cut out in the door and running down onto the carpet trim on the door panel. You would think the speaker would go bad quickly if it gets dripped with water constantly in the rain. I currently do not have door speakers because they both blew out (not from the water, from blaring them way to loud back when I was in high school).

Here are some pictures. These are before I took it outside and sprayed the door windows. Much more wet now.

edit: The window and door seals are all about a year old. They were replaced by a body shop after my car was broken into.

Any water getting through at all is not ok. How many cars have you owned that leaked, or better put, were DESIGNED to leak? The body shop must have done a crap job putting the seals back on...

If you take the door panel off your car, and spray the window with water it will leak into the inside of the door, guaranteed. Nothing is on there to prevent all water from not going in. That's why they have holes in the bottom of doors. I just wonder how much most rx's have going thru them. That felt 'seal' thing on the outside of the window is not going to hold back all the water. I've had this car for 6 years and have been getting some water leakage problems in the past year, the other problem has been fixed so far, but this one is different. Luckily I just bought a house and she will finally have a garage to be in!

Ahhhh, sorry I posted before looking at your pics. I thought you meant the seals around the door. There should be a layer of plastic behind the door panel? Like painters drop plastic to prevent water from damaging the panel/speakers, iirc...

Yeah there is, but it doesn't cover the speakers at all. Unless it's missing something for the speakers. I'm going to put some plastic over the hole and seal it with the tacky stuff and I hope that works. I was just surprised by how much water runs in there.

You're always going to get some water going past the window "seals", but fortunately typical rain is going to put a lot less down there than a hose on full blast. My seals aren't perfect, but they still manage to keep the water to a minimum. It's never gotten past the inner plastic layer and onto my carpet though.
