Lots of Questions Extreme NooB
Ok I am going to buy an RX-7 and have decided it is definantly going to be a Second Gen. Now i found this one and am seriously considering buying it but since i know nothing i would like you guys opinion on how much it would cost to get it running well and what I will need to do to it. Lastly I want to know if you think it would be worth it. Thank You.

Wow weird choices if you dont know jack **** about rx7s then i wouldnt suggest either...get a car that is running and in fairly good condition...learn what you need to learn and understand the basics of owning a rotary and then get a turboII
OTH that TurboII isnt bad but i would get rid of the yellow wheels and i dunno about that "bodykit" not to shabby on the motor though...hehe

The second car has a NOS kit on it? Maybe it is just me but I would NEVER buy a car with NOS on it....anyone who puts NOS on their car is prolly not treating their car with tender loving care and I would imagine that the engine would have to be rebuilt soon. The first deal will need a new engine as well....so if these are your final and only choices and you HAVE to buy one or the other it would be financially in your favor to grab the first one for 650 or 700 bucks at the very most and put a TII engine in it. Unless you think that the yellow rims are worth 4000.00 dollars lol.
But I am no expert......I would find another deal if I were you unless youhave a lot of money to burn.

Ok so the I emailed both oweners to see what they had to say about the cars and what they thought it would cost.
The first guy said
"will sell outright 4 400 bucks if no one wins auction. I was tol a motor rebuild kit through mazda was like 300 bucks. Let me know!"
I havent got a response from the second guy
I'd really like to purchase an RX-7 but im not rich and would like to stay under or around 5000
I dont have any experiance with Rotarys but i will learn and if the Car is only 400 then I wouldnt think it would cost more than 4600 to put a new engine or rebuild the orignal one.

In the end its better to find a decent running car, in my opinion.
Edit: I guess the GTU is something I might consider only because I have experience rebuilding engines and its a GTU.

This will be my permint mode of transportation after I fix it until then i can still drive my parents car. I know all of you know more than I do. But this seems like a good deal.
And if it will take less than 2K to get it to run that sounds like a deal.
I dont know thats why Im asking but im also not afraid to put work into it. And am willing to work all winter on fixing it. I just want my own car so i dont need to drive my parents and an RX-7 is like a dream to me.(Can't Really drift that well in my dads oldsmoble Cutlass supreme lol) Thanks for the info and keep it comming. I won't don't have to make my decision for two days. I really need some good solid reasons not to buy the car or good reasons too buy the car.
i.e. Don't buy the car because you could find a new one in good condition for less than it would cost to repair.

Thank you for all the help so far and keep the suggestions comming
Gasket kit + Rebuild kit = over 1k

Those are both bad. Keep looking.
BTW, don't ever buy anything that had a dry nitrous system installed unless you plan on scrapping the entire engine.
Also, a rebuild is about $2,000 from a decent auto shop, and it would cost about $800 to do it yourself, depending on what needed fixing.
