losing power

losing power

Hey...so I was comin home last night on the freeway and I noticed that when I'd go up hills in 5th my car would lose speed like hardcore...and now if I floar it it makes like a bogging sound and doesn't have a power it used to...I switched my plugs and my oil and the filter...so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with that I'd really appreciate it....thanks

check your fuel filters first, the one in the tank AND the hi-pressure one

it's an 87 rx7 n/a...the only things wrong with it are smells like gas in the car...losing a lot of power....nothin like when I first had it...and it cranks for a long time...

WARNING!
If you smell fuel - you DO have a fuel leak.

If it finds a spark before you fix it:



Also - fixing a fuel pressure leak may fix you power loss.

fuel pulsation dampener! fix or fire!!!. or just get a banjo bolt from another fuel rail. check the archive for part numbers. they fitting costs like 8 bucks I think.

check out the afm, i've never run into this problem on my 7 but on my truck the AFM was dirty, thus reading falting and the whole truck smelled like gas and had no power becasue it was running mega rich, just an idea
