Angry Losing Power....

A few months ago I took my car into the dealership for some things and one of those things I had them check was the alternator. Auto Zone tested it for me and said it was bad so I had the dealer look into it. They got confused because it would work and then stop and then work. They narrowed it down to a battery cable that was glowing red and said that that was the problem and that was why why stereo was cutting out. They cleaned the terminal and called it a day. It still cuts out! Especially at night when I have my headlights on and then I brake or turn on my turn signal. Even when I just brake during the day it will cut out if it is at a slightly elevated volume. I have aftermarket headunti and speakers but no amps ot anything extravagant. The only thing I could think of was a bad ground of the battery cable but what do you think?(Sorry about the length but it was pissing me off)!

Same thing happens to me. Seems to be sparadic, I can see the charge gauge drop below 12V which means the alternator isn't creating enough power to charge the battery and keep the electronics going. Think I may try tightening my alternator belt.

Sounds like a bad ground to me. Had that happen in a prelude that I once owned. Check the ground for the stereo first before looking too deep.
