Exhaust nut info

Does anyone happen to know the specs on the nuts that bolt up the stock catalytic converter on a second gen. I would like to know the pitch and size of the nut. I don't have my tap and die measuring tool right now.

Thanks,

DJ

Hmm, I think so... Mazda Part Number 8118-40-355, you can measure the bolt easily with a ruler. I haven't gone out and checked them but you should be able to measure the thread diameter (including threads) and that is your M#, then I believe all M#'s higher than 12 use a pitch of 1.5 as specified in the FSM part TD, last page. That should tell you exactly what you are looking at.

Oh, one more thing... you can get the Parts Microfiche from Mazdaformance.com for most years of RX-7. I find this EXTREMELY useful, for diagrams as well as for part numbers.

Too bad they don't go into detail about stuff like this. My guess is that they're 10 x 1.25.
