Looking at the Haynes manual, wondering what this may be.
On certain pages of the Haynes manual (and the FSM too) there are two switches hooked into the ECU. The 20k mile switch, and the Canada switch. Anyone know what these do? I remember seeing there is a third odometer behind the dash that enables the 20k switch, but what exactly is it for?

A feature of the 20k switch is it's supposed to affect the Port Air solenoid which allows a very small amount of air from the air pump to enter the exhaust ports for the first 20k miles and then it closes down the solenoid until the odometer reaches 100k and it turns on back once again.

Interesting, what did this achieve? Was it to help break in?

The idea is that the engine runs a bit richer in break in so that a bit more air is needed by the cat to function properly. Then after 100K you have the same situation as the engine is a bit loose.
