1. whatever meets your needs, high HP means a big turbo - fast spooling means a smaller tuned turbo.

haha ^ theres alot to think of when going turbo on a rotary..how much hp your looking for and keeping it street legal? or what do you plan on doing with the car..? if your looking for a nice turbo daily driver with enough power to stomp on those annoying idiots that pull up next to you..then go buy a old turbo 2 block s4 s5 up to you..and then rebuild it do a mild street port and exhaust port to keep it smog legal and use a hybrid turbo or a stock turbo i think that a stock t2 block can take about 11 pounds of boost without blowing something..but i could be wrong..go with the 89 t2 rotors..three window bearing that way your engine stays nice and lubed..and the hardend stationary gears..i hear good things about the haltech soo i would go with that..i guess..karack correct me if im wrong with any of this that way i dont mislead him..your the expert..

You're going to need more money than that. What about a clutch? What about suspension, and tires to meet the almost trippled power output? What about oil cooler lines? What about a radiator; what about basic maintence? A fuel pump, injectors, exhaust, etc etc etc.Don't get me wrong its a good start, good amount of cash for a decently built stock turbo car however.

well to start im not looking for an all out beast it does need to be be somewhat street legal

im looking for like 250+ to the wheels no more than 300 for now im really looking for the best block configuration so its built for high hp down the road. i dont wanna have to pull the motor later to upgrade internals later i want them done from the begining

so all in all i want a block that is ready for anything i want to throw at it later and a comp to run it . im not so worried about the turbo right now was thinking t-70

i was actually thinking of just buying a front clip from a jspec 89+ tII so i can do the rhd swap and use that motor for rebuild

much safer for higher boost levels on pump gas, unless you are running race fuel i wouldn't do the high compression rotor configuration, it has nice fast spooling but in my opinion it has much lower limits than the lower compression engines. basically if you want faster spool but less peak horsepower then go with high comp. rotors, if you want higher peak horsepower but don't mind slower spool then go with the lower compression rotors.

AMEN!

Ask yourself why would you waste 7k converting an N/A? If you really have a good enough reason then by all means do so. Other than that sell it to another N/A enthusiast and buy yourself a TII. Now 7k may seem like alot of money, but it is a drop in the bucket if you are looking for high HP applications. Supporting mods extend beyond the engine bay in the form of suspension, braking, and drivetrain.

Good luck with whatever decision you make

Uh, yea. If you've got 7k why would you turbo a non-turbo? Just buy a TII.

Could be he has an extremely nice n/a, thats why I converted one of mine 4 years ago.

Back on topic, even 250ft lbs of torque in an Rx-7 is enough to require good tires and suspenion in my book.
