Missing making the Tack drop off?

Ok as im driving down the road at lets say 70 the car will periodicly have a miss, and when it misses i noticed that the tach drops off everytime... wat would cause this, does the tach get its signal from the leading coil, cause i think mine has some kinda problem with it, cause sometimes the car will idle perfect, and then i will idle like crap and when it idles like crap you can pull the l2 plug wire and it dosent make a change....

Well anyways is it the coil or something else??? thanx

I've *heard* that the tach gets it's signal from the trailing coil--but when I had my leading coil grounded incorrectly the tach would drop on misses as well...

Yes, the TACH gets its signal from the trailing coils - the FSM wiring diagrams will confirm this.
This is NOT a myth.
So either your wiring is screwed, the trailing coils are screwed, or the stock ECU is screwed.

The trailing coils not functioning properly woudnt make it have a hard miss going down the road would it, but i do know that when it misses going down the road that the tach drops off....? Also it seems to have a constant miss while its idleing every couple of seconds... O and im running the rtek 1.7 too, anymore ideas on this?

There could be a short somewhere. My TACH would miss DRAMATICALLY and the motor would drop revs violently when I had a live 12V wire shorting out above my turbo... But like I said, this was very violent and actually blew out my EGI COMP fuse several times before I found the shorted wire.
