Ram air or free breathing?

If you mean like those lame Honda metal or plastic tubes with a filter on the end that is free breathing. Just use a K&N or Apexi filter on the front of the air flow meter (note series 4 cars will require a $20 adapter for the filter).

Ram air forces air from outside the car into a tuned intake tube for increased HP at high velocities.

I guess you didn't read my reply.

I do not know of anyone making a true ram air kit for any Japanese cars. It used to be available as an option on some GM vehicles, but even the factory discontinued it.

I can only assume that you are using the name Ram air as a generic name for a free flow intake or a RamAir brand air filter, which is a panel filter that would replace the stock panel filter ( http://www.ramair-filters.com/fs_home.html ).

In which case the Apexi I showed above would be the best followed by the K&N. And again as posted in my other reply; your car (a series 4 Turbo II as you mention) would need a $20 throttle body adapter for either kit.

Ram Air, as in air filter inside the front air dam or somewhere air is hitting the filter at rather high speeds/pressures.

in about 2-3 weeks we will be experimenting on making a ram air kit for the 2nd gens, it will be a while no companies even make cool air intake kits for our cars, we will also be doing that

Check with RLC on this forum. He makes a mandrel-bent cold air intake which has shown a slight ram air effect.

IF you are looking for ram air check this out

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=36934

We talked about this a while back. I messed with a ram air system from the brake inlet area but I never really cut a larger spot under where the airbox goes, This summer I'll have a full setup going with pics.

Maybe that thread will give you an idea
