not necessarily. A friend of mine has a 1990 NA, no sunroof, a/c, p/s, non-LSD 4.10 rear-ended.

You could get sunroof-deleted models.

OK, those that said GTUs, GOOD ON YA!

The GTUs was only made as a S5. The S4 equivalent was the GTU in 88. Except it didn't have 16" wheels.

OK, now, what year is mine?

no, it's not, it's a 90. Look at the model year. L = 90

FYI, the 10th digit of the VIN on any car sold in the US since 1980 indicates the model year. It started with A, and skips the following letters: I, O, Q, U, and Z. Starting with the 2001 model year, the 10th digit is a number, starting with 1, which will probably continue through the 2009 model year. Thereafter the sequence of letters will likely restart.

That make it any clearer?

DJchunter: you're not correcting me, you're mistaken. that's the build year, not the model year. Built in 89, sold as a '90.

Yo,

Coolness, 1 of 100 made that year! If it's a 1990, congrats! Way to save it.

Have fun with it!

Do all s5's have them mirrors, or just GTUs'?

Not to sound like a ricer, but I like side mirrors that are spaced farther from the car.

Yo,

Those are the standard S5 "Aero" mirrors.
