look at the new vert!
Hey all, JUst thought i would show a few pics of the vert i got instead of paying 3500 for the rebuild on my brave blue vert. This one has 22k on motor,140 on chasis, 2 piece seals, cone filter, new top, t2 seats and mufflers. Not bad for 2000? Let me know what you guys think. Also considering selling the other vert. 114k miles and just needs a new skin for the top. Otherwise all untouched and ready to be overhauled. N. Florida.

I bought my 88 Vert for $450 with all the parts to go TURBO! It needed the top to be replaced (came with the car) and the motor was shot, but it still ran and drove. Put a new motor in there, Slapping an s5 turbo instead of the s4 that came with it... And BAM!
Anyways nice buy.

Thanks for all the good feedback! Anyways, I saw on another posy that Kevin was looking for the other lighter blue vert, but thats funny because you guys are not the only ones telling me that. I really dont know if i would sell it but, if the price is right? And for the dash, its not spraypainted. Its just a crappy armorall job. That and a combination of the flash being way too bright.
But if anyone out there thats close to me would like to talk about the blur vert I would take all considerations. I would love to sell it to kevin, but I am pretty sure he specified the other blue.

I will post pics of mine when I get it out of the garage this weekend. I picked up a black 88 vert with blue interior for $600. It has a blown water seal. I'm pulling the engine tonight, and rebuilding it soon.

now thats one i think that i have necer seen before! Black w/ blue int. This is getting weird! I dont remember seeing brave blue verts with blue interior, now a black vert with blue int.!
Well can anyone else seem to think of any bizzare factory colors from the factory? I think once i remember I saw one that was white with a tan top and had blue interior.
Thats kinda odd.

I will post pics of the blue vert if anyone would like to see them. What do you guys think a good asking price would be for it? JUst needs new top and motor paint is flawless except for the hood [faded] but thats typical for a dark vert with the alluminum hood!

thanks. but no thanks. 500 dollars for a car that only needs a rebuild is a little cheap. As a matter of fact, as i was looking through the glove box I did discover the origainal owners name and address. So i called him to ask about the color and interior scheme. He said that he had to wait 2 weeks longer for the blue interior and blue exterior. And then preceeded to tell me that he paye da hefty premium too.
So i am convinced that this interior was specialy ordered. Becaise all the brave blue verts i have seen all had black int.
So now I feel so special. Oh, there i go getting all stupid again.............

When pricing a car you have to take into consideration lots of things. Actual value of the car and how much it is going to cost the next owner to get it back to that range of quality. From what you stated it needed paint, top and motor. Everything else is good right? Lets break this down.
Motor- CHeapest $1000 rebuild from Keving Landers
Gaskets/fluids- to use when re-installing engine- $100
Paint for hood and other area's (dings and dents)- $500-600
Top depending on quality- $400-$800
So doing all your own labor you are looking at around $2000-2500 to get the car up to close to value, then add the price for the car that I mentioned ($500) and you have a car that is worth the money that you put into it.
I don't mean offense because I have been in your shoes lots of times but a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I think that the Maximum you cold get would be $900-$1000 as that would bring it up to MINT condition via Bluebook at Around $4000..
Keep it and rebuild teh motor, or it is a perfect time for a T2 swap!!! If it means more to you then that then keep it brother, I let a few go and regreted it afterward......
