Logicon replacement question?
I have to move my logicon to make way for something but I am wondering whether anyone has ever replaced it completely with a set of switches instead of the actual logicon. I am wondering whether it would even be possible?
Thanks in advance.

anythings possible....
you may have to use some variable resistance switches for thigns like the temperature control though.....
Icemark would probably have a wealth of knowledge on the workings of the logicon

it would be easier to use the stock electronics but fab a box for it. the stock unit has a ton of empy space in it. Icemark would know the steps involved more than probably any of us
On a similar note, I have a question. All I want to work is defrost, either off or on high speed. Would I be able to ditch the whole stock logicon, and maybe even install a different (stronger, not OEM) blower?

I sent him a PM a few weeks back but I got no reply. It probably got lost in the shuffle, hopefully he'll see this thread.
Hmm, I think sometimes PM's just don't through, because I just checked now and don't have any unread ones.
anyway.
As far as the front panel, that could be replaced with just reostats and switches, but the main board would need to be retained for the position control on the air mix motor and mode motors as well as for the blower amp (the blower is controlled by the blower amp, which is controlled by the main board, which is controlled by the slider reostat).
I suppose if you were really into fabing things you could replace the motors with cables like on many cheaper cars.
or if you didn't think you needed position controls, then you could just do switches, but the odds of guessing exactly what position is what would be a nightmare.
