Huge wire plug back there. Have you removed your radio unit? You'll have to reach your hand around to unplug it. If you were removing the dash it would be that much easier

For some reason I am thinking that you can get to that plug when you remove your idiot light cluster. It should be right there. Can anyone else confirm this? When I took mine out, I was on my back on the floor snaking my arm up from the underside. I am a wee bit smaller than the average person so that helps.

once you take out the four screws holding it on, it does seem like there's something else holding it. i know, i pulled mine last night.

Lotta wrong answers/ bad posts in this thread.

You can not get to the plugs from behind the radio
You can not get to the plugs from behind the idiot lights.

Cpt.Zanzibar please search next time, so you don't have to read all this bad advice.

If you had searched you would have found there are 4 screws and 3 plugs for the logicon.

You will need to remove the radio/logicon trim bezel (two screws behind the vents, two screws behind the ash tray, remove the shifter surround pull out the bezel slightly, reach around the back and unplug the cig lighter and twist and remove the cig lighter light).

Remove the 4 screws holding the logicon in.

Reach around the back of the logicon, and remove two plugs.

Now you have three options for getting to the last plug of the logicon. The plug itself is above the accellerator pedal and plugged into the air mix motor and air mode motor.

So:

#1 you can reach up above the accell pedal all the way to the top of the dash and unplug it, then unlclip the plug and pull the logicon out.

Or

#2 Remove the gauge cluster, reach in back to the plug, un-plug it, then unlclip the plug and pull the logicon out.

Or

#3, Remove the hard dash board trim panel that runs the length of the dash board between the window and the soft dash board. Reach down unplug the plug, then unlclip the plug and pull the logicon out.
I personally only do #2 any more because I don't have the minature hands required for #1, and I don't like all the work involved and often tweaked or broken plastic of the vents in the the hard dash trim panel,

its the eaisest way. i had my cluster out last night replacing the speedometer cable and all of the bulbs in the cluster, so it wasn't too bad to get to the third logicon connector. that seems to be where most of the resistance comes from when one tries to pull the logicon out before disconnecting that connector.

I do it the way the FSM tells me to (or #3 in Icemark's list). Remember to tie a string to the logicon clip so when you pull it through while taking it out, you'll have a string guide for putting it back in. I forgot to and rigged up a coat hanger to pull it through. Which, actually, wasn't that hard. A string still would of been easier.
