Loco Fuel Buzzer

Sometimes when I corner (right), break, or accelerate, my fuel buzzer + idiot light comes on. It usually goes off when the car levels out. The buzzer is LOUD and extremely annoying.

It's independent of the amount of fuel in the tank (I'm running full right now and it still did it). Sooooo... I dunno.

I want to just unplug it. The light I can handle, the buzzer I can't.

Any idea where the buzzer is located? It sounds like it's in the dash, to the left of the wheel.

it's directly in between the tach and speedo.

do a search for rev buzzer removal or something to that effect. I have some detailed info out there somewhere on how to take it out or ghetto disable it.

Humm... I can't even find it using the search.

when you pull the gauge cluster out and flip it upside down with the gauges facing you, you'll see a little whiteish box in between the tach and speedo. either remove all the gauges from the circuit board and then unsolder the buzzer from the board (preferred method) or simply break the plastic housing off the buzzer. (ghetto method, but doesn't require removal of the gauges)

The door warning chime and seatbelt reminder will still work (part of the cpu) but none of the idiot lights will trigger an alarm and the over-rev buzzer will no longer function.

Warning Will Robinson! warning!

There is not a fuel buzzer...and its not the fuel light!

If it is going off while cornering then it is going off from low oil!!!

Do not disable the buzzer!!! fix the car. Put some oil in it as you are driving it about 2 quarts low.

Because I am a mod and promised not to be as out spoken as I was prevents me from posting what I really think of disabling the buzzer instead of fixing the car and paying attention to the condition of the car.

There is no fuel buzzer... The only buzzer in the dash is for low oil, over rev, and low coolant.

ah man,, you wouldn't believe what I typed and then said, "Oh I can't post that..."

It just pisses me off when people just want to cut something out, instead of fixing the problem, well alone that this guy is on his way to blowing his motor... and then might say something like "ah RX-7s are not reliable".

They guy I sold my Sport to did the same thing. Just cut the buzzer out because he didn't want to hear it when he hit redline.

Two months later he blows the engine up from too little oil.

Mazda put the buzzers and warning lights in just for people like that.

Yeah.

I was searching threads for information on the buzzer and I saw mention of it being triggered by low oil. Checked the car, and yep. That was it.

I'm running full now. Thanks for the (albeit slightly delayed) help.

I haven't seen it light up yet, but in the idiot cluster on my car, there is a light for low fuel. I don't even know if it really works or not *shrug*

for the fuel; the idiot light there on solid usually requires to to be at less than 2 gallons of fuel left in the tank.

The idiot light and buzzer for the oil is when the engine is more than 2 quarts low.

good call icemark. i was beginning to wonder why no one picked up the fact there is no annoying buzzer for fuel. (i would know, 93 octane costs too much and so i've cut it close too many times)

Well, my fuel light doesn't work and I know my motor is topped off with oil as I check it every time I gas up. I would have gone insane when I bought my car from the buzzer on low coolant. I merely removed an already disabled buzzer from my dash. I only know the annoyance of the evil idiot buzzer from friends cars.

Deaf and dumb <pun there> people can legally drive. I've yet to see Autometer, Greddy, or HKS offer a shift buzzer. Yet, they all sell shift lights.

Small craft pilots have only one audible signal and that is the stall warning indicator. Ground and flight school emphasize scanning the instruments. I'd say that if that is good enough to keep people from falling out of the sky its good enough for me.

We don't have over heating buzzers, low oil pressure buzzers, or no brake lights buzzers.... I'd say all of those are just as important as the levels.

A moron wrecked my bmw 2 mo's after I sold it because he punched the throttle on a tight turn. A "low traction" buzzer probably wouldn't have helped him. You can't replace intelligence with warning indicators.
