locked up motor fixed itself... wtf...

I locked up a motor because I ran it out of oil. I was pissed. Then I started ripping it apart, almost completely down to the short block. When I went to take the 90 ft/lb bolt off the main pully using a torque wrench it started turning over... it takes like 65 ft/lbs to crank it by hand. should i put it back together or take it the rest of the way apart and see if i broke anything?

Your bearings are all dead at minimum.
Even if you managed to get it running, it'll eventually eat itself into pieces in a couple weeks.

I remember years ago I had an RX-4 wagon as a company car. All of us who drove it were 'rotary-ignorant' and treated it like all our other company cars..severe neglect.
Anyhow, I remember on 2 occasions the motor stopped, oil stick was dry. Put 3-4 quarts in, ran fine. I guess it'll take lack of oil at least once, ours ran until I quit the job a year later.

I ran my FD without oil for 30 miles.

STupid me.

the car had less and less HP.

Then i looked at the oil gauge at 0.

Then it occured to me that the night before i drained my oil and put the plug back on.

Friends came by and dragged me out to a party.

Next morning i woke up and started the ****** up dry and the rest is history...........

I did fill oil back up and it drank 1 qt for every 50 miles LOL

I would think if it got hot enough to seize, that it would change the tempermant in the seals and make them brittle

You need to replace the "Stuff" inside while it is apart. Do yourself the favor.....you'll be happy afterwards......nice new motor.
