Locked my keys in the car...

haha, yeah.... got out, hit the lock button on my 88 GXL and left it. Came back an hour later searching my pockets for my keys. Nope.... don't have em. And this situation would be a whole lot better if the spare key wasn't actually in with my primary key. (haha)
So, i'd figure before i call a lock smith, i'd ask you guys for some tricks you may know. I don't want to try a slim jim because there's a bunch of wires for the power locks.

So guys, have any tricks so i can unlock my doors?

You know what the dealership was that originally sold the car? They might have the keycode available and cut you a key...

Heh... pretty much if you give them the VIN number and have a valid ID they will cut a key for just about any RX-7. Ask me how I know.

Because there was an RX-7 that was seized by a tow yard. Because it was seized they had no keys for it. We happened upon it and since it had been at least three years since they seized it, they just let us have it for $75. We had to get keys for it so I just wrote down the VIN number, walked into the dealership, and said I needed a key. The service manager took down my license number and the VIN number and proceeded to cut me a key.

How To Steal a RX

I've done that - Here's a good trick -
Pop the seal up at the bottom of the window - comes straight up - I used the screwdriver tool on my pocket knife.
Unscrew the radio antenna off the back, fish it down on the lock linkage near the handle - hook and pull up.
It take a bit of practice - but i had mine open in about 10 minutes.

yes, there are ways to open our cars. As a matter of fact it is very easy (jdesalvo). However, this post is letting everyone know how to steal our cars.

CrossfireCurt....take the title to a Mazda dealer and they will make you a key instantly for $10.

how to prevent your RX7 from being stolen:
5. Flood the engine everytime you get out, all rx7 owners should be experts at unflooding so this shouldnt be much of a problem.

4. Get lo/jack

3. remove your cats and premix, the smell should keep everyone away

2. leave a sign on your dash when ever you get out that says "timing belt is busted"

1. Buy a wheel boot
