little hlp plz
A big blown Hemi stickin outta the hood should be cool. No seriously though do a search and see what your options are. I'm still debating too. If you want turbo fun its probably better to just start with a tII but you can alway do a swap (probably what I'm going to do) But that gets pricey fast. So it kind of depends on what budget you have to work with. Do some realistic bench racing and see what suits your need best as far as what you want to use the car for and your budget,
^NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
but seriously I think you should MOB around int he NA version for a while and see how you like it. If you're more into racing and you want a powerful car then I suggest you move away from the RX and get something else.

Im gonna use that quote just so you know. And yea get the car first- you might fall in love with the n/a rotary. Otherwise you have the common Turbo II swap, the criticized V-8 swap, the dream car 20B 3-rotor swap, and many others. There are plenty of options just look around and of course use the SEARCH button.

i agree with phoenix. your talking atleast 3-5k to do a good turbo swap and not just drop some junk jdm motor in.
my question is why are you even thinking about a motor swap when you don't even have the car yet? you'll need bushings, suspension, brakes redone before even thinking about a motor. what good is a 12s 1/4mile if you can't stop or keep it straight?
suspension i've been pricing all week it's about $1000 for a completely new setup with tanabe gf210s and kyb agx adjustables and all the little stuff
bushings are only 100 but a PITA to install.
you'll also want to change plugs, wires, fluids, tie rod ends, balljoints, brake pads, maybe new rotors? that'll be another 400-500.
new clutch 200 if you install yourself 500 if you have it done.
tires? 500
probably gonna need new shifter bushings $35.
sorry to seem negative but we have like 50 people everyweek asking the same exact question with no clue what there getting into,

1.He doesn't have a car
2. the new car fad has shifted from FWD econoboxes to RWD dorifto machines
3. The NA is slow. I know it the OP knows it.
4. he wants a fast car. WHY? most likely the same reason all the noobs want an RX: to "race" (and it's RARELY at the track) and beat all the new decently powered cars (remember owens and his NEED to beat the scion Tc and he was not happy with his newly acquired FC?)
5. If he wants to buy a car to go racing friday nights then he SHOULD move on to another car so the real enthusiasts can get their hands on them or so the weirdos can swap LS1s in them. I personally have my 2 FCs (NA and Turbo) so I'm not missing out. If anything the value of MY cars will go UP as these noobs destroy the RX7s that are still around.
^^^ that my friend is how you can assume and say that IF HE WANTS TO BUY A 7 FOR RACING THEN HE SHOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE.
If he was truly interested in the car for it's REAL SANCTIONED RACING HISTORY, OR THE uniqueness of the motor then it's all good. From what I've seen in the past 4 years ^^that rarely happens.
