Just re-route that hose from the compressor side to the wastegate and have it run to the boost controller and then to the wastegate. What you are doing with a boost controller is controlling how much boost comes from the turbo before it gets sent to the wastegate to open it up.

Then turn boost the wrong direction and punch it. You should succesfully brake the shaft of the turbo. I did.

oh alright
cause i was thinking.....

wont i only be able to raise the boost and not lower it?

because all the air goes from the compressor side into the wastegate and that is the level of the stock boost

if i have a boost controller, wont i only be able to decrease the air that goes from compressor to the wastegate, which would increase the boost?

i need to lower it so i could get around 5psi max....

I had the same problem. As far as I know, you can't lower the boost level. I would actually like to learn about a way myself.

How much boost are you running now? My gauge keeps saying about 12 psi but I really don't think that can be right as my controller isn't hooked up.

That's right, you can't. Not unless you respring the wastegate actuator or replace it all together. Now, most likely you'll get boost creep, (where the pressure raises in higher gears by itself past what the boost controller is set at), to combat this you port your wastegate (almost requires removing the turbo from the car though).

you need to start by porting the wastegate, this will make it so you can control the boost creep. replacing the spring in the wastegate will do nothing if not enough air can exit from the turbo housing.
