Exclamation Liquid Under My shifter?

I finally found the time to install my Mazdatrix Short Shifter. I pulled the old shifting tower out and found a liquid under it.. (greenish i beleive) Is it supposed to be there or did i find yet another problem that will cost me some $$?
Thanks
Nick

That is lubricant for the shifter, supposed to be there. I dunno about it being green though, just 90W gear oil I believe.
