Well, this needs to be our cars against each other. Don't make me whip out my buddies supercharged NSX.... Then again he's only running 12psi on it.

There's no way Brent Rau would let me drive the eclipse. His shop OsoFastRacing.com is going to be sponsoring my car club. For those of you who visit the site, thats his old car on there. the new one is rwd and does 7.91

Make sense now?

I've said before that any TII with FMIC, standalone/ and/or upgraded turbo should walk all over me.

HMm.. is Adrian's car up and running yet?
i heard adrians car is up and running.. somewhat. scott sent me a pic of adrians car parked outside some guys house :P

and i think there's this guy from rotary motorsports (igor?) that has a nice t2.. goes by the name 16psi_boost on bcrx7 i think

Hell yeah!!! I'm SURE "Roy" will be happy to participate. And I plan to give Mr. 13-sec a run for his money.

Funny how hard my car pulls UNDER 4K... and it's broken

My car pulls plenty fine under 4K. So much that I can start in second gear without bogging or feathering the clutch very much.

I have an open invitation for any nay sayers to come view and ride in my car. I have nothing to hide. Dre_2000 lives about 20 miles from my parents and he's yet to even show interest in "disproving" my claims. ****, I'm even gonna be in his city friday night and he won't come take a look at it....

When was the last time you guys ran with an SS camaro off the line and kept with him till 90? That was even with a vac leak! I stomped the **** out of a new thunderbird the other night too. It was an old guy talking major **** and playing with the riceboys around here... I pulled around him so fast he went home. I talked to him a couple days before and mentioned I wanted to race him and he laughed... He wasn't laughing when he drove off after I came out to play.

I wanna run against a C5 vette! I need some competition.

I have fun toying with the GSX's on the highway. They all think their little awd system is so great till they get about 30ft and start losing ground.

GLHS, Although you and I disagree to the extent of safety vs weight reduction... we both understand the power to weight ratio's importance. When will these kids learn?

That's the point

We will never be lined up agenst eachother; this is a timeslip shoot-out. The person w/ the lowest timeslip (and video to prove it) wins the grudgematch.

I wanted to get this going across the forum. Seems like a cool idea to me.

Yea... he sold the motor and has given up on Mazdas. Just read his quote underneath his name and you'll see. Wow... this does bring up memories.

yea, i saw the "**** mazda" thing, but i didnt take it as an attack on rotaries at all. hell, i didnt think twice about it.
i am, however, overly pleased (call me a giggling schoolgirl) that the reference was so quickly noticed.

well, i was hoping to see where they got with their cars. i've been trying to find info on N/As from people who have actually tried, not just the type with a mild streetport and exhaust and claim all N/As are slow (isnt/wasnt the fastest drag n/a rotary a mid/low 8 second car?). but i guess, again, this thread can be laid to rest.

ps. jimmy loses by default

I want to see Turbo N/A vs. TII, same mods, same psi, and see who wins.

Any money being put on this race? Show some confidence in your car, and make the race all the more fun and worthwhile to the winner.

I love |betting on myself. I even bet when I play minigolf

The turbo N/A will. I'm only runnin 6psi and I'm easily in the low 14 range. Horsepower increase was 60rwhp over the n/a, if only my damn clutch wouldn't slip anymore. Hell more than likely lower mid 13 if I keep the clutch from slipping. Some kills:

newer f-bodies
new camaro ss
porsche 911 turbo from 0-70
various mustangs (gt, roush, etc)
new thunderbirds (what a joke)

Also an couple of late 60's corvette's. The z05 guy wouldn't run me anywhere past 80 (at which point i was a car ahead), and kept on saying he wasn't trying to race (yet it sure sounded otherwise).

But regardless, I hit anything past 7psi and my clutch goes to ****. I'd be interested in taking on some of the similarly modded TII's once I get my damn clutch in and wind it up to 12psi.

From personal experience, (and I have experienced both first-hand) I would tend to disagree. with a gain in compression of .5 between the S4 and S5, only 18 hp were gained, and the S5 ran an extra 2 psi of boost! an additional 0.4 psi of compression will hardly make a difference in my opinion to anything outside of lag.
Add in the extremely restrictive stock intekae manifolds and ports on the N/A, and I think the TII motor will have the upper hand.
for a 14 second timeslip, also keep in mind you are running full exhaust, intake, and FMIC. A stock TII will run 13's with those mods at 6.5 psi.

Well you said mod for mod, heh. I'm sure I can hit 13 with a functioning clutch, hoping to get a run in on this coming up friday, we'll see!

And for sake of comparison, my '89 TII (which had basically the exact same setup) was a hell of a lot slower at 8psi than the N/A, but then again I have no precise way to measure other than my generic test run on a closed off road I do to gauge changes in mods.
