limited slip diff.

Oh yeh, let me add this to anyone who is rebiulding the diff: 3000 miles after you do it, change the fluid.

It sounds to me based on your description that you have an LSD that the wrong gear oil (the 84-88 clutch type used an LSD additive or a specific for LSD gear oil) was used in or that the rear end is worn out.

help me out here,

i just got a t2 diff thats currently out of the car, (2 big rims, 11 cooling fins),
I turned the stub axle on one side, the other turns the opposite direction ???
the diffs not working correctly ?

Worn out LSD or its an open diff.

What year TII? If it's an S5, then it's a viscous LSD and the "spin the tire" test won't work well.
