On Aaron Cake's write up, is he saying you need to purchase a relay, and install it on the acc. wire?

 

Ya, that's to use them as DTRL's. They will always be on when the car is on. I'd hook it to the run wire myself; that way they're not on when you're just sitting listening to the radio.

 

Which wire is that? And would I still need the relay on the run wire?

 

if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the link below there is J-spec FTPs. They have a bulb built into them so you dont have to use your headlights.

Basic electronics. The relay is used as a switch to turn on the lights. The wire spliced into the run wire toggles the switch. The power going though the relay should come from the fuse box. To find out what wire it is, check the FSM. I don't have the wiring diagram memorized (Yet).

 

Didn't think you did have it memorized. I've sort of hit the wall with my scematic decoding abilities and wire color skills. Thanks for the help.

 

I would take the signal off of the IG2 signal, to correct my last post. It's on only when the key is at the ON position. NOT ACC or Start. The wire color is B/R (That's Black w/Red stripe) when running between the ignition switch and the fuse box. It splits out at the fuse box to four wires. Light green/Yellow, Blue, Yellow, and Green/Orange.

Yeah, I half figured it out, after I looked at the FSM over and over and over again. I've got it switched as of now. I plan on purchasing a relay and taking care of all that stuff later. I've got so little experience with relays, but yeah, I've got an uncle that's an electronic technician, and a gearhead, and he'll help me.
