Lights won't go up or down?

I got an FC T-II and the other day i had to jump start the car in the dark and i accidently connected the jumper cables on the battery backwards anyways when i did realize this and i eventually started the car i noticed that my headlights won't go down, i'm assuming i fried something but i checked the fuses all good, i then check the motors by turning the adjusting screws for the headlights and they popped down and came back up usually it's the other way around if they're down.......don't know what to check next
they stay up which is good for night driving but i don't know why they won't go down now?

do the lights come on? the relay could also have fried. i know my headlights never went up because the relays were missing. once i sourced a set they worked like a charm.

yeah the lights come on but the lights won't go down, where is the relay located so i can check it if this could be the problem, as i mentioned before i've double checked all the fuses and they're all Ok.

the relay is probably connected to the headlight harness. it is white and has a 6 pin connector.

SOME early 86-87 had external retract relays. Other cars have no external retract relay at all.

You'd have to put power on the given relay and then ohm out the contacts of the relay to see if they closed or not.

Or pull the cover off the relay and if It's corroded all to heck, replace it.
