Lights on without them popping up?

How can I get my headlights to stay on without holding the brights when the lights are in the down position? I've seen videos of fc3's driving with just the "peep" hole having light coming through and the lights not up...

Thanks
Mitch

You can disconnect the white circle connector to disconnect the motor.

yea, aaroncake's website has a writeup on how to turn the stock a-spec headlights into daytime running lights... aka the lights are on but not in the up position. the j-spec lights dont actually have the clear passage, in its place they have a separate light and reflector thats controlled independently.

Or simply remove Diode D4 from the inside of the light switch and then they only raise when you use the headlight cleaner switch.

im not too terribly sure how, but when i bought the car like 1 1/2 years ago, i do believe (and i work with wiring everyday) that the guy actually cut the wire going into the headlight **** relay, wired it with a interupt switch, then rewired it.
again, i havent really taken it apart to find out, but i can turn my headlights on, whilst having them down, and my other lights on, so, idk.
seriously, if it aint broke, dont fix it, it just causes grief for yourself and any possible future owners.

peace

just do the sleepy eye mod with the switch(like on his^^ car and mine) all the switch controls is the headlight motor. And it only controls the headlight going up not down...

IT'S NOT A MOD!!!

You aren't modifying anything at all, just taking out a fuse.

I did this. It seemed cool at first, but I soldered that bitch right back in after a month or two. It gets annoying. If you do it, install a switch or something on one of the sides of the diode so you can enable/disable the mod.

There's a way to do something similar with the fog lights so they stay on with brights.... but it escapes me.

um yeas, its a mod, if you are splicing in a switch then it is considered a modification to the wire, its not too hard of a concept to follow....

but to wire in the switch you can pm me so i can pm u the steps I used, or you can search sleepy eye mod and just look for one with a switch. because thats you need is a switch to stop the current flow to the head light motors.

noob cake...

Or you can use a relay to ground the appropriate wire going to the switch controls, and thus the lights will turn on every time you turn the ignition.

Wire them as DRL's or go to corksport and buy the FTP lights from jland that have a light built in.
