Angry Lights Went Out???

a few days ago i noticed that when i turn on my lights the ones that normaly illuminate the hearting/air controls and the cig lighter light dont come on anymore.
i check pretty much all of the fuses the the fuse box on the floor board that migh have somethen to do with interior lights. still they dont work.

my boost gauge light is also wired into that system to and its down to so its kinda a prob to run at night

anyone else had this prob or a simular one?? any ideas of what it could be

From the FAQ for FC:
My tail lights don't work, but my head lights do
The light switch connections may have burnt out. Check the back of the light switch.

My dash lights don't work
Did you check the dimmer control??? If you did and they still don't work the light switch connections may have burnt out. Check the back of the light switch.
Now if it really is just the cig lighter at Logicon lights then you have burnt out bulbs, but if it is all the dash lights or all the parking lights, then (as covered in the FAQ for FC) you have a bad light switch.

to add on to what Icemark has already said, sometime when people install an aftermarket radio they patch into the wire that they think is switched power and then poof! no more lights.

thats not what happend. its a circuit problem. because my boost gaige lihgt went out to and its wired into the sig lighter. i highly doubt that both lights would burn out at the same time.

I had this problem twice since 1986 when I purchased the car. Both times it was the same problem.
The main switch on the left side of the guage pod. When I removed the switch I saw it was loaded with corosion; which caused a short. Cleaning it and putting back cured the problem both times. Good luck!

ok I pulled my light switch apart and put some di-electric greas on it plugged it in and it worked fine.. I then noticed my radio was not lit up so I tapped the front of the deck once it lit up the dash lights went out again.. so I know I have a problem with my radio and my dash lights. what radio wire is it that causes this problem

ok yeah I found that and it is a power wire

with it hooked to the power on the radio it is fine untill u turn the radio on then it blows the lights.. So whats the solution? where do u run it to to complete the circuit and not blow the dash lights when the radio is on?

No that is the parking light wire

The radio wouldn't even work if you used that as the power wire, unless the lights were on.

Did you not read the FAQ for FC sticky thread??? It has all the radio wires.

I suspect you used the red/black as a ground wire. There is not a ground wire from the factory. Of course using the Red/Black as a ground wire (as covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread) would be a very very bad thing and can cause the light switch to burn out or if you are lucky just blow the parking light fuse.

270+ posts and you can't read the FAQ for FC before posting??? should I ban you now???

I did but I have a power from my radio to the white and blue wire and if I touch the black and red wire to it my parking lights and dash lights come on.

so I am still trying to find out what is causing my problem
