Lights flickering at idle? Misfire?

So when I first bought this car I put an alternator in it since the original had a failing voltage regulator. Its been a few months and now im noticing that at idle im having some misfires, along with every light on my car flickering as it idles. If I raise the vehicles RPM the lights all flicker faster. Ive noticed if I operate an electrical component (i.e. headlamps, windows, brake pedal) that the RPMS on the engine drop a couple hundred rpm and the lights dim out, after a couple seconds the RPMS launch back up to 1k, then bounce around a bit before settling on 750. It gets worse as the engine temperature increases. Could this be a sign of a failing alternator? It shows around 14.7 but its definitely bouncing around, and drops down below 13 when I operate my windows or stand on the brakes. sometimes as the car idles ill notice the needle just quickly drop to 12V and then snap back up to 14ish. I ran a jumper cable from Batt Neg to the alternator case and ran a cable from Batt Pos to the positive lead on the alternator and noticed no change whatsoever. I just put this in, but I understand that these alternators are very questionable? Its odd because this car also has no power steering or A/C.
