eatmyclutch tell me you are not seriously debating the benefits of a reverse vent on a car with a FMIC.

You car gets hot with a FMIC I have the greddy one. It blocks air flow to the radiator which hurts it's cooling efficiency. A vented hood pulls air though at speed where cooling is hurt the most with a thick FMIC

Great work tinvestor! I remember reading the thread where you were originally painting everything and putting it all together. Hell, if my engine bay looked that sharp I'd be all out for showin it off too. More power to you, sorry I'm no help with lexan, but I hope you can find what you need!

Yes but again I am not looking for 1 hood for all the time I want another option like a second set of wheels. People around here are ******** and they will not hesitate to do something bad to your ride when given the opportunity. Opportunity = open hood. I want to be able to show it off sometimes without risking damage. when you open your hood people tend to lean in and I dont want them leaning in. If they can see everything without having to lean in under the hood then it keeps them farther away. I will no longer be justifying my desires I am just looking for some help.

I wouldnt say im impressed. I am impressed you are trying to convert to a right had drive, that is definatly not a easy task, which I applaud you. And Im sure it took alot of time polishing everything. But as for engine work, for me its not super impressiv, its also not horrible either. its just clean

Not trying. The conversion is complete. I have since removed the brake booster and clutch master to replace the polished stainless firewall panel I made because I wired the entire engine bay and lights, horn etc. through the body panels and frame rails to hide the wiring so my origional stainless panel had two large holes where the wires used to run into the bay.

I assume this will basically be a show car? Are there any reason you decided to move everything right? I know its different here in the US. As for the lexan hood, I beleive it will detract from your project. Sure people will want to see if youe engine bay, but they are going to learn over regardless of your hood. And having a clean hood, they will probably want to touch it. I would just recommend a stock hood, or a very clean vented.

Your engine on the first page reminds me of a red, white, and blue transformer.

From what I gathered he did the conversion to be the only RHD 10th AE in the country.

Amazing car BTW, good luck with the hood. I will ask a few shops around here for ya to see if they do that kind of work.

Thank you and yes that is actually the primary reason. I started out small and then just realized if your gonna do it do it all the way. It really is a once in a lifetime experience. I want the car to make the cover of turbo and I figured the more little details the better and that is when I decided that I should go RHD to be the only 10th AE in the WORLD since they were only released in North America.

One of the only things I didnt do was polishing but it was expensive. $2,000 with the rebuild all new synchros and bearings most of that was the polishing. and thanks

I think a lexan hood fits your needs perfectly. Unfortunately, I can't help you obtain one.

Oh, and that's a very nice looking engine bay.

Just get a pin on hood and take it off and put it on the roof if you want everyone to see that you polished and powdercoated every part on the car a different color.

If you read the original post, you'd realize that the reason he wants a lexan hood is so that people can see his engine while being unable to touch it.

Even though lexan melts at 280F, it's not good too much above 200F. I'm not sure how hot it can go, but any plastic will soften before the melting point.
