Question Let's talk hardware: mounting the seat rails to the OEM seats

Specifically for an S5 convertible

Does anyone know if there is a difference in hardware?

Quite a while ago I took my rails off the seats to send the seats off for recovering.

Now of course I have no idea where the hardware went. It was pretty proprietary----

As I recall, Each seat got 4 short bolts and 2 long bolts with thick gold colored spacers. This is to bolt the rails to the seats.

I doubt Mazda can help me with this...... before I put up a WTB, can anyone shed some light?

Help is appreciated

I don't recall any proprietary hardware, pretty sure the bolts are just standard 6mm x 1.0.
It's been a while and I don't remember spacers either, but Ace sells all sorts of relatively nice spacers that could be used.

They're definitely not so small as to be M6, they're most likely M8.

Does anyone have any concrete info? Is the vert seat mounting hardware any difference from the coupe seats? Something tells me it is.

The rail to seat is M8 x 1.25 as I recall. Same M8 that's all around the car.

The rail to car is M10 x 1.0 I think.

Thanks Aaron, I figured as much. Suppose I can just get an assortment and choose the lengths that seem they'll work, the issue is finding the spacers. Rather use OEM parts then just stack washers for various reasons

^Thanks for that

Am I correct that two are required per seat?

Appreciate all the info, unfortunately Ray Crowe tells me that the spacers are no longer available. Damn.

I have a pair of S5 vert seats in the garage (they're in great shape but my son has RX8 seats) and measured the spacers. They are 7mm tall and 22mm in diameter. Hope that helps.
