Let's Hear The Good Stuff!

A majority of posts deal with problems with the FC. I have been restoring my 7 now for several months and have been trying to take care of EVERY possible problem before I put the car on the road. This includes resoldering EVERY point on every CPU—including ECU—in the car. I want to hear about how much everyone is "happy" with their cars and how reliable that rotary engine is!

So far so good... Nothing serious (except the clutch and the brake pads, which were replaced), and the car runs perfectly. Of course, it has only 92K km on it, so its almost brand new , but still I count my blessings...

If my car exploded into a billion pieces; I would collect all the pieces and rebuild.

I'll see how much I like my car this weekend…when I strip out the exhaust and install my RB race pipe/presilencer. I'll tell ya, for being nearly 15 years old these cars still handle better than most newer cars.

I really like "wrap-around" interior now that it's all black—looks new. The seats are very comfortable and will probably look awesome with the WetOkole covers.

I've also grown to LOVE the look of the aero-equipped, stock Sport model. I was contemplating a body kit, but after months of working on the car have really taken a liking to the minimal ground effects—the rubber wing, side skirts and air dam are very subtle. When the car is painted I will have all the body moulding and aero parts painted as well. Oh! I painted the stock wheels—15" "bologna slicers"—did the spokes in several coats of gunmetal and left the outer rim as raw aluminum. I will post a picture tomorrow. This treatment really modernizes the stock wheels. Anyone else done this?

Eh, I love my car....buut....my TPS is acting up. Took the IC off and was going to use a DMM to adjust, but the damned adjustment screw is stuck...time for penetrating oil...so I whack it with a screwdriver a few times and move it around...noticing all the dust that has accumulated over 10 years of use. Wonder, if all that dust can cause bad/missed connections in the TPS...hmmm. Took it for a drive, and the CE light never came on!! I was sooo happy. Woke up this morning to pick up my GF to goto work/school; and the ******* light was on. **** this **** that, I was pissed. Filled it up with gas, and the ******* TPS induced CE light went away for the rest the day (no problems either!!).

But the turbo...ooohh god...I can't wait to spend money on the car, it makes me wana **** I get so excited

I'd like to mention that it's very nice to own a 13 year old car that can still race with some of today's sports cars. The T2 is still a formidable opponent versus Eclipse Turbo's, Integra Type R's and most of the other late model pocket rocket "racer" cars. The n/a FC also has comparable performance to most late model n/a imports. Small modifications to the car yield large performance gains compared to other cars. Great performance for a fraction of the price. Also, the styling has aged very well. Just updating the wheels can make people mistake your car for a newer one.

140K body miles / 28K engine miles. I've had it almost 6 months now and love it.

I'm in the same boat as you. Car runs great but I still have a few non-critical restoration items. Mostly shocks, brakes, tuning correctly for the aftermarket exhaust on the car, allignment, minor trans work, etc..

It handles like no other and feels great on the road.
