Left rear Damage

I just got yet another RX-7!!!
its an 89 Turbo.
the left rear has some pretty ugly damage to it. my question to all of you is how to fix this. when a front fender is damaged to simply replace it if bad enough. but on the left rear can that be replaced, or is it possible to have that fixed.
i know its hard to make that call without seeing it, but its not compleatly crushed in or anything like that, but its bad enough that it is making me wonder if it can be fixed.
anyways, any imput would be nice on this one.
thanks in advance.

It depends on if it's rippled or creased, and how far it's pushed back, it could be pulled out, filled in, and then sanded/painted over, and look good as new, or the entire quarter could be cut off and replaced (costly) Get a picture damnit!

yup. i smacked a guardrail with my old 89 T2.... basically has to be cut off and a new one installed. new owner still has that on the to do list even though he has the new rear 1/4

My rear was rear-ended, not bad enough to warrant a new quarter, just took some hammering and all-metal to fix her up, but it all depends on how you want it to look, and if it bends the inner sheet metal/etc.

Yes, it is fixable. Best way to go (to make the car look 100% again) is to replace the quarter. It's going to take quite a bit of hammering/etc to straighten all of that up. Oh, and your headlights are broke.

he he he, yes the left one will not move right now, so i lowered it a little by hand, and then lowered the other one a little by hand, so it has that "sleepy" look. at least untill i can get the left one fixed. like i said, i just baught it 2 days ago.

HEY i have another problem with this car.... well i have several, but one that is driving me nuts it the fact that my blinkers dont work. when you turn the switch to left or right you can hear the relay working, but not one blinker blinks. it does not even blink on the dash.... WHATS GOING ON. i dont get it. i would think that the relay wouldent even work if there was a short or something. (not to mention the blown fuses.)

Speaking of blown fuses.....
when i checked the fuses, there were a total of four blown fuses, but i replaced them and now only 2 are blown. the 2 that keep blowing are the "meter" fuse, and the A/C i belive.

so obviously there is a problem there. what does the "Meter" fuse do? all gauges work, so its not that.

ok well thats enough problems for this post, i will await some help...... PLEASE!
:-D

a block of wood and a hammer will go a long way if you know what you're doing. Let me dig up some of the pics of my cars damage, and you can see what i fixed with a hammer and a block of wood.

Yeah, use a block of wood, just tear out the rear interior, and start beating it flush, then use the block of wood on the outside to flatten the highspots, and then beat it out some more, you don't have to make it 'perfect', just enough so that you can fill over it and sand it smooth. You should've seen all the damn creases in that dent, it was nuts, but it's all fixed up now, I don't believe I have a picture of it at the moment though, let me look.

That's not my ***, you ***.

Not the greates quality, but that's basically what it looks like now, that was before we sanded it smooth/etc, just filled it, started sanding, got tired, primered/painted, and called it a night.

Why exactly do people cover up their plates on the internet? Could somebody clue me in. How is it any different than just driving around everyday with your plate showing.

watch out putting on filler so thick!! it will shrink and crack after a month every time. you gotta put it on in thin layers.... and when you fill the antenna hole, make sure u put something in it, and just fill the top part, not the whole thing.

if i were fixing that car, i woulda replaced the quarter.

b/c if they know what they're doing they can get your social Security number from your license plate, and w/ your SSN they can basically get as many credit cards as they want...and the bill will be sent to you...So if your lisense plate does get out on the internet, try and not to **** anyone off, you never know man.
