Leaking brake caliper where to buy new online?
Leaking brake caliper where to buy new online?
Basically i was leaking brake fluid from my right side rear caliper where the e-brake line leads to so i got a rebuilt one from strauss. After putting it on and bleeding the whole system it worked fine...... for about a day, until it started leaking from the exact same place again. I took it back to strauss and asked them to inspect my caliper and see if its a bad rebuild, with my luck it is.
Basically i dont want to deal with a shitty rebuilt caliper, what website or auto parts store sells them for a good price and are good quality? Mazdatrix doesn't carry the caliper i need.

You could check rockauto.com, but my guess is those are all remanufactured. I really think there is nothing wrong with a reman prt, but occasionally we all have some bad luck.
Yes, most from any auto store or online store will be rebuilt. I don't know if autozone.com sells new ones, I don't think they do, but even the rebuilt ones are pricey.... I can't imagine how much a new one would cost. The mazdatrix rebuild kit is nice.... I bought the $4.50 cent one from O'Reilly's and thoroughly cleaned and inspected the calipers after tearing them apart.... and they have been working great after I rebuild them myself and saved a ton of money.
I ended up ordering the rebuilt one at autozone, 120 bucks. The mechanic at strauss told me to return the caliper there because they have shitty quality rebuilds (coming from a worker there) and that autozone has much better stuff.
Autozone ended up being cheaper too.....
Speaking of brakes though, i read somewhere that theres a direct brake swap from an evo onto our fcs. Is that true? I'm about to start searching junkyards for a new brake setup

Just FWIW, I have had fairly constant problems with having to replace rear calipers multiple times because those purchased at local parts stores start to leak shortly after installation. It doesn't matter where I buy them from, it seems very hit or miss. If you have a local rebuilder in your area (most cities do), it may be better to deal with them directly than the auto parts stores. Cheaper, and someone you can talk to if it leaks.

They sold rebuild kits at strauss for 8 bucks, bought one but its to rebuild the piston, it didn't include the gasket for the ebrake line
Whoever did the testing must have liked it.
Going to a larger MC (1" or 1 1/16") with a matching booster will take care of the mush for you.
when u bleed them always start from the caliper most away from the master cylinder, and a 4 pot master cylider mite help a little. plus if u need i have 2 oem rear calipers avalible currently installed on car and not leaking im in ny too.
