leak under driver's side carpet?

does anyone know the cause of this? i noticed that the driver's side of the front carpet is getting moist? could it be brake fluid? let me hear your input. thanks.

well all the wires that i know of come in at the drivers side right under the dash by the peadels could be getting in from there

my guess would be your clutch master cylinder has sprung a leak, or you heater core.... but for the heater core the wetnes would be more like near the center of the car. smell it and figure our what kind of fluid it is(brake or coolant) and fix it fast, because the stock carpet doesn't like to dry out with all that foam padding crap.

dude the same thing happens to me, but it only happens when it rains really hard ... im not sure how the water is getting in there, but its damn annoying ... any ideas?

I had the same peoblem on the passenger side.I dont know why mazda did this but they put 2 plates on each side of the car.They are located behind the dash in each corner.They have styrofome gaskets that get old and brittle and leak.I got to the passenger side easily, i dont know about the driver side
