Leading ignition won't spark

Hi, this is a follow up to a previous message. The car is an 1986 N/A gxl.

When I bought it, the fuel pump had been rigged to a 12v line and brough to the front of the car, under the hood. The CAS had also been rigged, a red wire comming into it had been hooked to the same 12v line as the fuel line. I rewired the red wire to where it should go.

The problem is that my car won't spark from the leading coil. I checked the two wires that plug into it, the the green/yellow wire appears to be dead, and the black/yellow yields 11v. I swapped in another ECU, but I still get the same results. Any other thing I should check?

Also, the red wire comming from the CAS, what reading should it get? I get 2v... am I missing something?

I also read somewhere that the car should start fine with only the trailing spark plugs connected and vice versa, well I tried to fire it with only trailing connected, but it still won't start (the trailing does produce a weak spark). Anything I should look at?

Thanks everybody.

You have a spare leading coil to swap in?

it will eventually, but you have to go through 2 batteries before it will kick over(atleast mine did). just easier to get a new ignitor.
