lazy question on aftermarket interior lighting
bought some LEDs to replace floor lighting in my car since mine is shot, docs with it say to patch into the fuse box on something that only works when the lights are on or whatever, trying to get a bit more of a specific idea where to go than that though heh
would prefer the lights to only come on when the doors are open, like the light that sits somewhere behind the radio near the passenger side
although as i said mine is broke so flashes randomly and haven't looked into it yet to see why/what's going on down there since i have to sit upside down with my legs thrown out the sunroof while all the blood rushes to my head etc :p
any pointers from anyone that's installed extra lighting or patched into cables etc, as i haven't messed with anything electrical related yet other than backprobing wiper switch stuff with multimeter

If you want to add lighting, wire it in just like the stock lights, or even in parallel with them. See the wiring diagrams.
but yeah, i agree, wire them with the stock lights,
as a person that wants to do wiring in your car I am going to assume you've done your Homework. You should have the FSM on hand and can easily tell which wires are which and what to splice into in order to make it work. The reason noone answered was simply because this is not something the community does much (it's not like interior lighting is an issue in our spaciously huge cabin) or some just don't know what you're asking.
Look at the wiring diagram and it will tell you which wires do what.
Please come back AFTER you do a little more research. We're here to help not do your research.
