lazy eyes

ive been looking and looking and i cant find anyone who carries a lazy eye conversion kit. is it a kit? or is it a slight mod done by yourself? and if it is a kit..where do i get it and how much? and also im having to put a charger onmy battery everytime i start it up because something is obviously on all the time and is draining my battery. i checked everything and cant find nothing, what could this be?

sleep eyes is a mod done by yourself. Just do a search for "sleepy eyes" and there's lots of junk on it. Let me start you off.

Get ready for some negative opinions on sleepy eyes from lots of people.

Sleepy headlights before and after drifting:

Before drifting: "sleepy eyes" meant your lights were broken and everyone was embarrased to have them. Fixing your headlights was a top priority and your car no longer looked broken.

After drifting: Purposely making your lights look broken is very cool and somehow "JDM". If the before drifting version of yourself came to the future, you would certainly beat yourself up for having a crappy "boro" vehicle and for doing JDM poses in front of your crappy car.

the end.

If you wnat to be REALLY cool you can get a head light retractor kid. MY car came with a Pivot head light retracter and you can set in degrees how you want your head lights. Now personaly I dont give much of a **** about this sort of thing, but I did find one artical that said the only thing good for "sleepy eyes" is if you have an after market intake the half retracted headlight acctually allows more air to flow into it. Thats about the only good I can think of paying $180 for it. I didn't, and am to lazy to take it out.

first thing is to check your alternator.

as for the lazy eye mod, either u can pay 80 bucks for a controller
or pull the retractor fuse and turn it up via the bottom 2 manual *****.

another way is to splice a wire to the retractor fuse and put a momentary switch in your dash, so when u turn on your lights, u tap the momentary switch to allow power to the motors for a split second, keep tapping for a higher height.

The battery draining was something that was happening to me also. When I pulled the fuse for the headlight motor it would draw power from my battery. When I put the fuse back in everything worked fine so I decided to screw the whole sleepy eyed look.

well I did them and besides the aerodynamic bennifit at night, the light package I installed is at least 3x brighter then the silverstars or hella H4's .. To make it look good you need to use some pretty high end lights...

The people bashing the 'sleepy eye' have just never taken the time to look for the merits or just are too narrow of metal scope to appreciate low angle lights.. I've done 2 of these lights sets already for customers besides my own.. with more on the way. However if you don't like them fine.. just accept and carry on in your little world.. don't going hating on people for being different

people crap on it because it gives the series a bad name.

do what you want but people around here will voice their opinion on the subject. the info posted in the links will get you what you need done but get the shield out for the grenades tossed on this thread.

aerodynamic benefit?

Oh, and it doesn't give more air to your intake in reference to that earlier post. So advantages to sleepy eye mod I currently count at less than 0. Though I rather like that angry eyes mod that came up a while ago...haha.

I'd posts pics but it seems that the FC section is turning into the MkIII section from supra fourms.. unles it's stock or a agreed on , 'acceptable' mod then , like this your chastized.. I run large graphics and $1200 17" CF GT wing.. that would create so much bad kharma in one post it would implode .. let me know if you want pics I'll send em to yah.

not that i'd actually cater to the gumps on here poo pooing everything because " it ain't nermal " but even with the standing pressure wave on the front end of the car, the lights sit far enough forward on the hood TO affect flow. As a 2nd example; If you have a V mount and your vent(s) are in line with the trailing edge of the lights it does play hell with air egress..

however it is a free medium and to each his own..

i did it to mine because i dont like the look of the headlights at full mast. i dont like them open all the way because it gives the car more of a 240 look and thats a look i dont want on an RX7.

that's because it looks better on S13s. Just looks dumb on the FC in my opinion.

with the lighting options availalbe today in smaller formats it's a popular option with most H4/pop up lighted cars.
