I got an email back from him saying that if no other deals work out, he would consider letting it go for $3k or so. He needs the garage space.

Well, that's a bit of a jump! Congratulations on the purchase. I told a friend of mine that once I finish my restoration on my TII, after a "cooling off" period, I want to do it again. Only with an FD. I don't plan on selling the TII, but I figure by then, it'll be time to add to the stable a little bit.
