Sorry to hear that. I hope you or the other people involved weren't injured. That being said, we all need to be a bit more carefull when driving in bad weather. I'm not saying you were driving wrecklessly but your error screwed up innocent people's vehicles.

Not sure where you're at, but I'd be shopping the insurance around. I pay around $400 year for my 1992 Turbo II. That's with muli-car, homeowners, and above 25 years old discounts.

I have it covered with parital full. Besically if it's stolen or hit by someone without insurance, I'm covered for $8500. If I crash it, I'm out of an rx7 and no insurance reimbursement. If I hit someone I have a $1500 deductable.

I think that's fair. It makes me want to drive it safely

That blows hard. I can't remember if BC insurance is moderated by your government or not, but if it's private like here in AB, it's not going to be easy to find cheap insurance, especially if you were 100% at fault. There are discount insurance companies that could save you a few hundred bucks, but then again, if you get into another accident with a lawsuit involved, they might not be able to help you out if they're a really bad insurance company. Anyway, I'd phone around and see what you can do, if it's going to be insanely expensive -- take the bus to work and save your money for next year I guess?!? Sorry man, I feel for 'ya. Accidents suck.

Hope you're alright, and no one was hurt.

Now you'll have the pleasure of dealing with ICBC. Does no-fault insurance bar them from suing for personal injuries? Does ICBC look after that for you? If not, I wish you well. Defending those is never easy.

Good luck

FC's are great handlign cars but like most sports cars they are twichy in the rain and worse in the snow.
Inexperienced drivers such as kids 18 and under (sometimes 30 and under LOL) shouldnt be driving cars liek that simply because they dont have the experience and skills to handle a car in bad conditions they need something bigger slower and more forgiving in adverse conditions (like my 72 LTD my dad got me when I was 16). my next car was a Monte Carlo SS which i dropped a bigblock into but by then i knew how to drive and had a couple years experience on the road and at the track.
I dont blame the kids I blame the parents and the system for not teaching them how to drive correctly and saftly. Society is probably partially to blame, example "the fast and the furious" and other racing movies that have been out. Every one wants to go fast and look cool but ya gotta knwo when to do it and when to just chill and go slow.

Ok thanks for letting me get on my soap box

PaulC,

Hey I was chatting with a new SS Monte Carlo owner last week. I thought he had a friggin pace car since it had the Nascar style rear spoiler/speed limiter. Nope - it was the SS model I guess.

Guess you like the torque monsters and "steat of your pants" rx-7s as well huh

what sucks worse is that your +75 will not go away unless you have a car insured under your name. they changed it this year. so in 3 years you buy another car you will still be at the +75. so you are better off to go buy a cheap *** car with low insurance and pay it. so later on when you buy a nice car you won't die from the payments. I think you can even insure a scooter and it will cost almost nothing and still give you your savings each year.

ICBC sucks.
