Stock GXL spoiler

My 90 GXL came with the factory rear spoiler. I was admiring my car today and I went and touched the spoiler. I ran my hand across it and squeezed. To my surpise, it's soft. I have touch and squeeze other spoiler of the same kind and I swear it was hard. As a matter of fact, all spoilers that I've came across are hard. Anyone know anything about the soft spoiler that I have?

Really?
Cause I was at a Rotary shop the other day and they have the exact spoiler, and it was hard.
Anyways, any ideas as to why Mazda went with soft and not hard?
Lighter? Less prone to wobble at high speeds?

Thinks that make me go hmmmmm.........:p

Probably to prevent it from getting too damaged if it gets hit with something. Maybe just so it gives with impact? The others you saw might have been some of the knock off ones like the wings west one. I don't know if they are soft or fiberglass.
