late boost already done a search

ok i got my 88 T2 and i been driving it here and there...well i had (95 compression just about 3 weeks ago) well lately its been boosting slow max boost at like 4k.....im wondering wats up....and why she feels so bogged....i need to change the plugs...and although engine oil is fine and CLEAN as hell...ima give her the royal purple oilchange this friday and get some new plugs....BUT i doubt tahts the deal...also 1 bolt is missing from where the turbo and pre-cat/exhaust bolts up but i didnt think it would be doing this as it was doing really good for a whiles until maybe this week...temp has never gone high...and boost has never hit the 40+ on the guage...so i mean...i cant really understand just yet wat it is...im at work and decided to ask while im here..im check her out soon..also she was running fine with the airpump off...well its been off and i dont have a ACV blockoff plate too....so that pipe is just there pumpless....

please if you have any suggestions please let me know ASAP and please done tell me i have a blown head gasket like u did the other "late boosting" thread...... : )

I was getting a weak boost from my car, then eventually no boost at all. the car started and ran smooth, like a weak NA. After alot of work and troubleshooting turns out my turbo was bad. I took it off and disasembled the turbo. The hot side housing was cracked at the exhaust inlets and also where the turbine wheels turned in the housing. A few of the blades had pieces broke off.

When I first checked the turbo it was turning free. The next time it was locked up. I got it feed up and it locked up as soon as I started the car. I installed another turbo and it runs better than it ever has since the conversion.

Is your twin-scroll actuator hooked up?

If this ISN'T hooked up, you'll have slow boost response...

You probably still have your stock cat, and you probably clogged it by removing the airpump.

If it's the cat, replace/remove it. (You can usually tell by looking under the car after driving and trying to boost/etc, and the cat will be glowing if it's plugged)

No, you need something to replace the main cat, a DP only replaces the precat.
