The Last Hoorah
The Last Hoorah
I need some advice from the rotary masters. I have a 86 base model with about 310,000 miles on it. this weekend i am going to take it to the drag strip for one last hoorah. however being a base model it dosent have a whole lot in the way of added performance. and being that this will likley be the last time i drive it i was wondering what tricks or tips i could do to get the maximum power out of it without spending much if any money. yeah yeah i know no such thing as something for nothing... any ideas?
Remove the exhaust from the headers back.
Take out as much weight as possible.
Take out any air filtration if it has it.
Run it slightly low on oil, like .5 qt low.
Inflate the front tires really hard, like 50 PSI. You want the rear tires to be pretty hard too unless you have traction problems which I doubt you do.
Make sure you have plenty of gas, like 1/3 tank.
Practice your launch.
