One Last Hoorah

I need some advice from the rotary masters. I have a 86 base model with about 310,000 miles on it. this weekend i am going to take it to the drag strip for one last hoorah. however being a base model it dosent have a whole lot in the way of added performance. and being that this will likley be the last time i drive it i was wondering what tricks or tips i could do to get the maximum power out of it without spending much if any money. yeah yeah i know no such thing as something for nothing... any ideas?

86 or 85 model? 2 different generations there. Cheapest mod is weight reduction, strip it.

Hope it's an 86, be a shame to lose a first gen that way.

Hell, blow it up. Then junk it. That way the rest of ours will go up in value! Just kidding. Save your money for the rebuild after you go the strip.

I don't get it. Is it running really bad? Is there any other reason behind you wanting to get rid of it? Is the car in really bad shape or something? What's going on with it?

If you are dead set on it being the last time you drive it, and are just going to off it afterwards, just strip everything out of it. Carpet, dash, everything you can strip out of it, get it out. That is the best mod to do. Weight kills speed. It will take a lot of time, but I remember it after I stripped the interior and everything out of my '83. It may not have been that much faster, but it was a lot more fun.
