Lack of power/miss.. HELP

Yesterday when I took it for a short drive it seemd to work JUST FINE, except for a slight stumble. So I messed with it, and now its way worse. help!

ok.... I got it to idle (more or less, about 1000RPM but with a miss), I got 90% of the problems worked out. I even got it to start every time I turned the key. The guy upstairs is like TIMING IS OFF because the idle was weird... it would miss constantly but pretty lightly. So, we mess with the timing, nothing seems to change.

Other things I messed with today : I adjusted the TPS. The car was cold, I don't know if this would screw things up or not. It was at 2.2kohm at zero throttle and 5.5 at WOT. I adjusted it so that it was at ~1kohm at zero and it still had 5.5 at WOT.

Anyways, here's what it's doing:

under ZERO LOAD
it seems to run just fine, slight miss... revs a little slow in the upper RPMS maybe, but I dunno.. seems to work reasonably well. All throttle positions. It'll scream if I let it.
under ANY LOAD, LIGHT THROTTLE (I'd say 10% or less) it works well, maybe not perfect but certainly driveable.
But it's light throttle, and you have to be wanting to go pretty damn slow. I got it up to maybe 50kph, in 2nd or 3rd gear... seems to work well regardless of RPM, but I never had it above 3500ish, and I don't think it would rev much past 4... just not enough throttle.

under any load, higher throttle (<10%) it misses like hell. will not rev, will hardly move.

The 02 sensor is disconnected, because I can't find the wire. It's gone or something.
the IAT sensor is also disconnected, because the wire is buried, and I'd have to take apart half the motor to get back to it. Is it necessary? Because if it's magically the cause of all of these problems I'll take the damn car apart and put it back on... I just didn't want to bother, I needed to get this car running TODAY so I wouldn't end up having to take home a cab... which I ended up doing.

My therioes(sp?): Timing is off, causing lack of power and massive stumbling
TPS is off because I adjusted it while the car was cold, and I should have left it the hell alone.
Plugs are fucked? I dunno.. just grasping here... These ones are brand new 2 days ago and the ones that I puled out 2 days ago were brand new a month ago, but with zero miles. I can get some new ones tomorrow, I guess.

Help, please! I'm getting frustrated here, and I have to have this car on the road NOW.

What did you do with it when you messed with it? Also, what is an IAT? Intake Air Temp? If so, you NEED that plugged in because the ECU bases all of the maps on it. You could be running extremely rich because the ECU thinks the engine is very cold all of the time, not sure how they programmed it.

It is hard to diagnose something when there are some thing not plugged in so I would first get everything plugged back in, the O2 doesn't make much of a difference though so you can skip that. Here is what I would do...

Plug things back in.
Pull spark plugs and clean them, or replace them.
Make sure all grounds are good, tight and clean.
Set TPS when car is warm because I read a thread about someone setting it when cold and when then when warm and it made all the difference.

Hope this helps.

hmmm...

list so far:

set timing
set TPS AFTER car is warmed up and after setting timing
take car apart, connect IAT sensor
throw in a pair of new plugs (wow, I've gone through 8 allready... and have driven the car less than a mile.. heheheh)
I called chris at CP and he also suggsetd that I make sure the fuel lines are correct and that the fuel filter isn't clogged.. so I'll get a new filter today, too...

...

that's it, right?

Take a wire, leave the plug in it and lay it on the body. Crank for a few seconds... youll see the plug fire.
