koyo radiator and aws temp switch?
I just pulled my stock radiator and was changing parts over onto the fancy new Koyo r-core radiator i bought a few weeks ago. Everything was going just dandy (brackets and water level sensor) all fit like a glove.
then there's the little two pronged deal that rides driver's side at the bottom rear of the radiator. I've been searching all morning and the best i can come up with is that this is a temperature switch for the AWS system? i've got no damned clue. Well, it threaded on a couple of turns fine and then got snug, and me thinking it was just the old plumbing tape on the threads tried to snug it through with a wrench. bad idea. now i've got a couple of mashed up threads i have to fix/file out and i still haven't figured out what the hell to do with this sensor/switch/whatever the hell.
is this a known issue? why the hell are the threads on the switch not the same as those in the supposedly bolt up radiator?
what the hell is this sensor/switch for anyway? can i just say to hell with it and keep it off/unplugged? if i need a new one with the correct threads where can i go?
oh, it's an 87 gxl n/a...so s4

so i've been searching around more, looking up the thermosensor and such, and it seems like i can just twist the two wires that connected that switch together to bypass it. seems like a much easier solution than trying to fix the threads, especially if its for the AWS system.
also after reading up on the thermosensor and problems it causes when bad...methinks i need to check mine.
