Koyo Rad and Coolant Sensor

Im just about done with these coolant level sensors. How do you install these coolant level sensors on the KOYO rad without it breaking? It seems like the coolant sensor is to big for the threading, it already feels tight when i first turn it in to tighten it. I can never seem to put it in all the way without breaking the plastic part. This is the 2nd one I broke luckily I didnt buy any of it but its really starting to **** me off cause the other one broke today and found out coolant was leaking out from it.

thanks

the threads pull on the plastic sensors, there is no easy installation of a used sensor.. it will go in or it will break because it's life has already been extinguished by the doritos.

i dont want to sound stupid i know its simple task but the level sensor gets really tight before i even screw it all the way down. if i try to scew it all the way down it breaks cause of the tiny plastic part attached to the metal on the sensor is weak (used or brand new). if i have it tight but its not all the way down it leaks. i also tried using that white thread tape still fail. who has a koyo rad and can clear this up for me. feel free to flame me cause idgaf. sorry im losing my patience here. this is my 2nd temp sensor.

SO.....

WTF

thanks!

When I installed my Koyo radiator, I was able to easily install the coolant sensor. I really am not sure what to tell you... You ordered your specific series radiator, correct?

Are you sure the hole is threaded the same? I had no issue with the level sensor on my S4 Koyo. It threaded it very easily.

they're all threaded the same in the radiators from 1974 through 1995+(possibly even older but that's as old as i have dealt with personally), i have used sensors from old shools in newer cars and vise versa.

if you're breaking a brand new sensor installing it then you are simply tightening it down too much, i am going to guess that you are reusing the old rubber seal and that is your MAIN ISSUE right there if you broke a new sensor. reusing an old sensor is hit or miss, being cheap like that you can't expect them to be 100% reusable, as i mentioned before in abused cooling systems i have pulled those sensors out and the threads are COMPLETELY rounded off.

IF you have a brand new sensor and it is only going part way in before binding then you should retap the threads in the radiator, a burr can be causing the sensor to cross thread. being that the sensor is only plastic it will never seal properly unless you resolve the issue.
