Koni yellow installation question
Hey guys. I searched. I'm installing Koni yellows. I have the rear shocks in the car, but I'm not sure I tightened down the big bolt on the top of the shock properly. When I turn it, the rod into the shock turns. I held the rod in place with the little plastic adjusting handle that came with the shocks, then backed it off. I'm not good with the picture directions they gave me. Somebody out there with experience, please give me a hand.
Thanks,
Doug

How much bolt thread is coming out from the nut on the top? I just did Koni's on my miata and forgot to tighten one of the nuts down all the way. The only way to do it is to re compress the spring and then tighten the nut all the way down.
I hope this helps....

I usually use an impact on those nuts.
If you haven't access to one, put the shock on the car- install the nut as much as possible- and lower it off the jackstands/lift.
Once the weight of the chassis is on the shock(s), you can usually tighten the top nut without the shaft spinning.
