Which kit would you get?

I asked this in another thread..kindof having to do with the same thing...but didnt get much response...so Im making a new thread asking the same thing.

Which route would you take?

Mazdatrix: http://www.mazdatrix.com/b2.htm
Engine Gasket Set (which includes the o-ring set and all gaskets) $181.58
Front Ecentric Seal $4.33
Rear Ecentric Seal $9.32
Rear Gear o-ring $6.19
Pilot Bearing $9.41
Pilot Bearing Seal $2.41

for a grand total of $213.24 before S&H

OR

Rotary Aviation: http://www.rotaryaviation.com/engine_products.htm
Gasket Set $48
O-ring Set $153

Grand total of $210 before S&H

The reason I ask and posted specifics, is because I dont know what all the seals look like and what they are called, and neither site really explains in detail what all is in the sets. So I dont know if one set has more things than the other. I know there are pilot bearings in the mazdatrix package but I dont see anything about them in the RA package.

Of course this is if all seals(apex) and springs are within spec when I tear my engine apart. If they arent, it changes the whole scheme of things.

If you recommend something else...lemme know. I know Atkins sells some kits..but I havent seen a lot of people on here using them.

Thanks guys.

Use the OEM mazda if this is your first rebuild.
I have used stock mazda, RA, and Atkins seals. RA's took a while to seat, atkins broke in almost instantly, I was amazed, and the mazda's wernt too bad. Price? Get the RA is your budgeted, atkins if you done have that much, then OEM mazda if you have the cash to spare.

There's a thread about this in the archive already. It discusses the different options, prices, and peoples opinion on the good/bad.

And in my opinion, no kit. Get what you need, sometimes some kits will come with extra stuff you don't need.

Thanks dDub...I totally looked right over it. VERY good thread it is!

So...is all I have listed in my first post all I need if all my apex seals/springs/bearings ect (im assuming these are what is called "hard parts") are in spec or am I missing something?

Basically...my rebuilt engine has no more than 25,000 miles on it..but it's been sitting for over a year now and will not turn. So im assuming its carbon locked or something. What I am wanting to do is take the engine apart and clean it all up, and then re-assemble it with the new o-rings, seals, and gaskets.

Thanks for any help.

Why don't you just bust open your engine and peek inside???
It'll be obvious if you need to replace something...

I'd worry about having good rotor / side housings or rotors with a "locked" motor.

We can go on and on for days on what MAY need to be replaced, but only YOU can confirm what parts needs to be replaced by opening the engine up...

I will be ripping it open..once I get into the house so I have a garage to work in. I cant really do it at my apartment with a wife and 2 kids running around.

The only thing I want to know is....if all my "hard parts" are good in my engine, is what's in my list above all I should need?

Thanks for the help...except for the last guy that posted...I dont know what he's smokin
