Kinda new to RX7s (kinda not) question about seals.
Hey guys (and gals) I found this 7 for sale near me for sale.
http://syracuse.craigslist.org/car/604927056.html
I'm kinda new to RX7s, kinda not, I had a white 91 Coupe that got t-boned by a drunk driver, and in the ad, the guy says it needs new anti-freeze seals, my question is, where are they located, and how hard are they to knock off in a weekend of work in the garage? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

your in for a rebuild coolant seals are located in between the rotor housings and side housings so besides the coolant seals you need to buy a lot of other seals and gaskets to perform this correctly

it's more than just a rebuild, you'll most likely need new housings, it's not so much the gasket/seal that gives out but the wall of the housing near the seal giving away and coolant being pumped into the housing, if it's been sitting for a while with the fluids still in it, it's rusted everything else in there also.
someone also removed the ftp's it has nice dents in both the front fenders. also if it's never seen winter why is there snow on the windows in the pic from the interior

atkins rotary, mazdatrix, rotary avation, your local mazda dealer. and just getting a junkyard 13b or even a "jdm" motor doesnt mean that its in good shape.
replacing the coolant seals requires taking the engine out and apart to get at them.
check here for a pdf of the fsm on how to take the motor apart. then judge whether you can do it or not.

Wow you don't know about the coolant seals and now you want a bridgeport? There are links to buyer's guides in the forum FAQ. Just get a good running RX-7. Grab a Haynes manual and do all maintenance. Especially cooling system maintenance to prevent the #1 most common way a rotary blows: the coolant seals. A halfbridge will guzzle gas, won't pass smog, and will make a lot of noise. A full bridge gets more power but those issues are worse. So how you gonna pay 50%-100% more for gas and dodge the law? Got a plan? If later on you want to learn more and then restore a '7, more power to you.

As far as me not knowing what coolant seals are, but knowing what bridgeporting is, my buddy has a 94 with a half bridgeport, so thats how I know.
No, it's gonna be a bridgeported for boost motor, more than likely it's gonna be a drag race only car.
