Arrow killing the rat nest...

Hi guys!

Is there a good writeup for killing the rat nest, air pump etc. on a series 4 TII on the net?

if yes, pls give me a link

don't have find much with the search function :/

nothing for the s4 available?

another question...

when i do this mod(s)... would my car IDLE and start up as before?

FAQ, Archives, etc....All been covered hundreds of times before. Also, the Haynes and Factory manual contain complete schematics of the emissions system.

Nope. If you start eliminating things like the cold start and BAC, you cause drivability problems. Personally, I don't see the point in removing the emissions system unless you have somehow rendered it inoperative (by removing the ACV and/or cats, for example).

im going to remove my cats and airpump...

and my IDLE is ******* me up since over a year and i don't find the reason... :/

You can remove the rat's nest without bothering idle/cold starting, as long as you leave the throttle body & BAC intact. The vacuum rack controls the EGR valve, air control valve, charcoal purge valve, and some other stuff. None of it's needed for a running engine.

I don't recommend removing the charcoal purge valve, nor the crankcase purge valve. No reason to, and doing so just creates other problems you have to solve.
