keeping quite

How do you guys keep your street ports quite?!!! I recently got my 86n/a rebuilt and ported. with the diffusers cut out and the exhaust cleaned up. I'm having trouble toning this thing down. well my exhaust is: RB collected header, 2.5in Raptor muffler right after the header, Custom Y pipe after the raptor. Y pipe is 2.5in with 2 glass packs on the back. Now i know you will all say hey get rid of the glass packs. . that's not the problem It was fairly quite like that. then the Raptor must have blow out on the inside. There are no leaks but i can hear it like no other right where the raptor is. It's acting like a ressonator or something now. . Is there any muffler that can handle the heat of the rotary? If i was to put a High flow Cat in where the raptor is would that quite it down? What setups do you guys run with your street ports? Any info would be great. i havn't been stopped by the cops yet but i'm sure in due time I wont get the clutch in on time or have one behind me at a light or something. Please help!
thanks
Dom

Run off-set, straight-through mufflers.
Place one of them at LEAST where the stock main cat is.
These mufflers are offered by Walker Dynomax UltraFLO, Borla, and Magnaflow.

yea the raptors are offset, It sounded good until it blew out. I guess that's what i get for buying a 20 doller muffler. . lol Do you guys think that one of those higher quality offset mufflers would tone her down a bit? I hope so. this thing is loud! How about a high flow cat? anymore info would be great. Thanks

a high flow cat would quiet it down more than any muffler would but there is a tradeoff, you would be losing flow hence less power.

They sound like crap on a 13B, IMO.

if you use a high flow cat, or a cat in general, will the air pump have to be reconnected?
